Homeless But Not Hopeless (Part 2)

Bambi and MikeThis was Church; you know the passage: ” For when two or three come together in my name, there I am with them.” (Mt 18:20)  Nothing fancy or formal.  Just a gathering  in a fellowship of obedience, loving Him and loving each other.  “In His name”, by their actions and deeds.

I asked everyone if it was okay to take pictures. Some said it was; they wanted their story told. A few others said “Not so much”; Didn’t want their parole officer to see them. And one or two just weren’t interested. They all wanted to visit, though.

I’m glad, now, for the photos.  They help me revisit the moment.  There was peace there.

“Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the Kingdom of God”, our Lord told his disciples, (Luke 6:20).  Is it possible that only the poor can understand this blessing?  Does one have to be unplugged from all of the demands and distractions of work, family and even Church in order to know this blessing?

A recent Gallop pole on happiness seemed to indicate an inverse relationship between happiness and wealth with residents of countries with poor economies reporting the highest degree of happiness.
